Bramble Cottage is a newly built, two bedroom property in the small village of Strontian. Less than five minutes walk away is beautiful Loch Sunart - an ideal spot for kayakers and sailors alike. Strontian is the perfect hub for nature lovers wishing to explore the many local walks and mountain paths of the area known as the Outdoor Capital of the UK. Visits to Mull and Iona via Lochaline or Skye via Mallaig can easily be completed within a day. Ben Nevis, Fort William and Glencoe can be reached within 45 minutes via a short crossing on the Corran Ferry. Stunning sandy beaches and secluded spots are within easy reach on the Ardnamurchan peninsula whilst Ardnamurchan Point itself, with its dramatic views out to the Hebrides, is the most westerly part of the British mainland. The majestic scenery of the West Highland Line can be experienced by train from nearby Fort William, giving visitors the opportunity to see the world-famous Glenfinnan Viaduct at the head of Loch Shiel.

Kitchen: Dining kitchen with table and seating for six. Cooker, fridge/freezer, Bosch dishwasher and washing machine, microwave, kettle, toaster. Double doors open onto patio area. Living room can also be accessed from kitchen via french doors.
Living Rooms: 3 seater sofa, 2 seater sofa bed, TV with integral DVD player and Freeview, CD player with I-pod dock, Playstation games console and some games. Selection of books and board games.
Other: Large and spacious hallway with utility cupboard, small patio area outside kitchen accessed by patio doors.
Cleaning/towels/
linen/maid service: All towels and linen are included and changed on a weekly basis. Property cleaned between lets.
The cottage has oil-fired central heating and all electricity is included in the rental price. The cottage is non-smoking. Dogs are accepted, by arrangement, but we ask that they are kept off the furniture.
Accessibility
Flat drive to property. Access to the cottage is via flat paved area. All doorways inside are wide. Low lightswitches and high sockets have been provided. Full access to front and rear gardens.
Outside
Grass front and wildflower rear gardens. Table, seating and barbecue area in large front garden. The front of the property is enclosed, providing seclusion and privacy for guests. There is a patio area to the side of the cottage which can be accessed by double doors from the dining kitchen.

Local Activities
Coast/Beach
Loch Sunart is within 5 minutes walk. At 31 kilometres (20 miles) it is the longest sea loch in the Highlands and a popular destination for kayakers, canoeists and sailors.
There are beaches nearby at Inversanda - less than 15 minutes by car along the main A861 - Ardtoe (around 16 miles or 30 minutes by car) and the magnificent sandy expanse of Sanna Bay - well worth the hour's drive along the full length of the peninsula.
Golf
Fort William Golf Club within 45 minutes by car is an 18 hole course nestled between the mountains and the sea, on the north side of Fort William and at the base of Ben Nevis (Britain?s highest mountain).

Skiing
Nevis Range near Fort William and Glencoe Mountain Resort are both within 45 minutes by car.

Travel
Given the rural nature of the area, the use of a car is essential. Car rental is available in Fort William which has a mainline train station connecting it to Glasgow with 3 services a day in each direction.
Glasgow Airport is around two and a half hours away by car whilst Inverness Airport to the North is approximately two hours drive from the cottage.
Distances
A short crossing on the Corran Ferry (15miles/20minutes by car) connects with the main A82. By this route Fort William is 23 miles from Bramble Cottage, Glencoe 22 miles and Oban - with ferries to Mull, Coll, Tiree, Barra and South Uist - 50 miles from Strontian.
Ardnamurchan Point Lighthouse - the most Westerly point on the British mainland - 35 miles.
Lochaline - for ferry to Mull and onward trips to Iona and Staff - is a picturesque 30 minute drive on the A884.

The village is well served by a mini market, post office & general store, cafe, three hotels - two of which have public bars, and a tearoom & crafts workshop.
Petrol and diesel are available just moments from the holiday cottage and cycle hire can also be arranged in the village.
There is a well-resourced community centre with a library which is open 6 days a week including two evenings. The centre also provides community sports facilities including a gym and badminton courts.
There are two cash machines in the village - one in the post office, the other in the mini-market in the village centre.
A seasonal Tourist Information office operates from April to October and is open six days a week.
