Explore the Peak District The Peak District is located in the upland region of Northern England and is home to the country’s first national park, which was established in 1951. If you are planning a trip to better explore the Peak District, you’ll be pleased to know that many exciting opportunities for adventure and relaxation await you. The wide variety of activities and sightseeing destinations is only rivaled by the wide variety of places to stay, from private property rentals to hotel rooms. The place you choose to stay is very important to the overall experience you have while in the Peak District, so be sure to start your research early and take the time to choose accommodations that truly meet your needs.

Divided into boggy moors and dark, gritty stones in the north part of the District, and rolling green fields dotted with pale limestone in the south, the entire district is a relatively mountainous place, perfect for taking hikes and really getting out to enjoy nature. If you are truly dedicated to explore the Peak District to its fullest, you should be sure to take advantage of one of the 250 free guided tours that are offered in the national park each year. These hikes are designed to give a general overview of the park experience and are accessible to both the young and old visitor alike.

If you are looking to explore the Peak District while still enjoying the comfort and luxury of full service pampering while you are away from home, consider booking a stay in one of the many hotels or guest houses that are located throughout the region. Many of these properties are well decorated with stars and diamonds from the travel guides, and offer country manor house settings in the graceful Derbyshire hills, as well as breathtaking views from your windows and ample opportunities for taking scenic walks nearby. Many of these hotels and guest houses are privately owned and welcoming of pets, making them the perfect choice for both business trips and holiday trips.

If you are interested in a more private and independent experience while you explore the Peak District, consider a cottage or private property rental that offers more of a self catering experience. While many of these properties are also privately owned, they feature less host interaction with guest, with private en suit bathrooms and kitchens so that guest may dine at their own leisure.
