Property Description

Sleeping 10 in five large bedrooms with no less than four bathrooms, two of which are en suite. No expense has been spared and the quality is evident in every part of the house. The kitchen and dining area especially are of a bespoke design and the tables and units have all been handmade, as has the staircase.

The local beach at Housel Bay is less than 1 mile, and is absolutely stunning, you could be forgiven for thinking you are in Ibiza. The landscape at The Lizard is perfect for short or long walks.

Bedroom 1 is the master suite. Extremely spacious, with handcrafted 4 poster bed (see photos) & ornamental fireplace. Double doors lead out to a small decked area with seating. The en suite luxury bathroom has a free-standing roll top bath, matching toilet & handbasin & a separate shower cubicle with power shower over. Bedroom 2 is another double room with en suite bathroom, with fully tiled bathroom, matching toilet, handbasin & bath with power shower over. The 3rd ground floor bedroom is a twin room with two 3' single beds. Across the hall - Fully tiled shower room with shower cubicle, matching toilet and handbasin.

Also on the ground floor is the lounge, having comfy seating for 10 people, LCD TV, FreeView & a DVD player. Upstairs are a further 2 bedrooms & a family bathroom. Bedroom 4 is a large double room with king-size bed & fantastic sea views from both sides of the room. Bedroom 5 is another twin room with two 3' single beds & again, great sea views. Head height is restricted in parts of this room due to the slope of the roof. The family bathroom is fully tiled & has a matching toilet, handbasin & bath with shower over.

The free-form shape of the dining table will seat 10 easily & the similarly shaped central island in the kitchen also has bar stools at one end. There is a dishwasher, double range cooker, double sinks, large American style fridge/freezer & lots of storage space. A separate utility area houses the washing machine, with another toilet and handbasin just off. Outside is parking for 3-4 cars easily & a boat if necessary. The large detached garage houses a table tennis table for your use & there is a sheltered rear garden.

Summer Lodge is within easy walking distance back to Lizard village where there are two pubs/restaurants, general store, post office and gift shops. You are also just 400 metres from the SW coastal path offering stunning cliff top walking in either direction.

Rental includes bedlinen, electricity, heating, cot & high chair.

Local Activities

Helston / The Lizard area

Surfing, Sailing, Water Skiing, Wind Surfing and Gig Racing are all available nearby. Two local stables provide Horse riding. The New Yard Restaurant has been awarded 2 AA rosettes and is only a 30 minutes drive. The Head Chef sources the majority of their produce locally, with game, herbs and fruit being sourced from the Estate itself.

For keen Golfers, Mullion Golf Course is just a 20 minute drive, and is England's most Southerly Golf Course. Situated on the cliffs, Mullion Golf Course really is one of the most beautiful courses in the South West. For all the Family, Flambards Theme Park is perfect, whatever the weather, and is just a 30 minute drive away. Offering an authentic insight into "how we used to live", with a complete village, what it was like in the war and even Concorde's cockpit.
The West Country / Cornwall region

Cornwall is known as the "Land of Legends", with so much history and many myths throughout the County. For example, Tintagel Castle is a 13th Century Castle where King Arthur was born. Merlin's cave is located at Castle Beach, which is just below Tintagel Castle. When the tide is out you can access Merlin's Cave.

The Eden Project is one of the UK's top gardens and conservation tourist attractions and is ideal whatever the weather. You will be amazed by the world's largest greenhouse. In each of the artificial biomes, you will find exotic plants, flowers, butterflies etc., from all over the world.

There are several restaurants located throughout the site. The Eden Project also houses "EDEN SESSIONS", where you can see Artists such as Paul Weller, The Kooks, Kasabian and Razorlight. The atmosphere and experience is unforgettable.
