Property Description

Penyrallt Fach Cottage provides comfortable, traditional style accommodation in what was originally a 19th century piggery, on a secluded & idyllic organic dairy farm.

The accommodation is on one floor and comprises a fully equipped open-plan kitchen/dining/sitting-room with a very efficient wood-burning stove.

There is a large farmhouse table with seating for 4 and in the sitting-room area there is a sofa and easy chairs, in which to relax after long summer days on the beach or invigorating walks in the hills. Many books and board-games are provided, also a digital radio with iPod dock, TV and a DVD player with a large selection of DVDs.

A small complimentary welcome hamper containing organic and fair-trade items, a fresh home-baked cake and flowers from the garden will be on the table on your arrival.

There are two bedrooms which are simply and attractively furnished with a double bed and twin beds respectively, which have been hand-crafted by the owners using timber harvested from the farm's sustainably managed woodlands. The beds are supplied with duvets & beautiful locally woven Welsh wool blankets.

The cottage is adjacent to the 17th century farmhouse and a fine range of farm buildings, all of which are Grade 2 listed by CADW as a prime example of a model 19th century farm.

Penyrallt Fach is surrounded by a lawn and overlooks a paddock with a large pond.

All fuel, electricity, bed-linen & towels are included in the price.

The water supply to the farm and cottage comes from pure, natural springs which rise at the top of the farm.

Well behaved dogs are welcome at a charge of £10 per dog (max. 2 dogs).

Penyrallt Fach is a no smoking cottage.

The farm offers a wonderful opportunity for holidays in the lovely Welsh countryside, where you can experience life on a real working farm, as well as being able to visit glorious beaches, spectacular hills and mountains, and much more.

Local Activities

Penyrallt Home Farm is a 140 acre organic, traditional, mixed, family farm overlooking the beautiful Teifi Valley of Carmarthenshire. It has been run by the Robinson family since 1960.

The farm is certified organic by the Soil Association and has been run organically since 1996. We have a herd of milking cows, a flock of breeding ewes and a few head of beef cattle. A small herd of rare Traditional Hereford cattle is also kept.

Visitors are welcome to walk over the farm and see the daily routine of a real working farm which includes the twice-a-day milking of our herd of Ayrshire cows and depending on the time of year, the feeding of calves, lambing and silage or hay-making.
The farm is a member of the Soil Association Open Farm Network.

Wildlife abounds on the farm. There are resident badgers, foxes and rabbits as well as buzzards, red kites, herons and kingfishers amongst many other species of indigenous British fauna and flora. In the spring and summer many wildflowers and butterflies are to be found in the hedgerows and banks that run across the farm.

The Teifi Valley is a perfect central area from which to explore the spectacular coastline of Cardigan Bay, the splendid scenery of the Cambrian Mountains and the haunting beauty of the Presceli Hills.
There are many superb castles and ancient sites in the area and the tiny cathedral city of St David ?s is within easy reach.
